WOODS JOINS YOUNG STARS

KING’S Lynn have made a change to their WSRA National Development League team with Sam Woods coming in to replace Kenzie Cossey.

The Young Stars have also confirmed Jack Kingston is set to take time out of the sport and they are actively searching for a replacement.

Manager Jason Pipe said: “I was advised a couple of days ago that Jack is wanting to take some time out from speedway, so he can fully focus on his business commitments, as he works for himself and realises that he can’t give speedway the time and effort at the moment and must put his business first. 

“With our current situation with the team and not knowing how the guests will go, I’ve had to do one change to the team to try and get some more points from certain heats.

“Kenzie is at the start of his speedway career and a rider I believe will come good. We were hoping to be able to carry Kenzie in the team and let him develop with no pressure, but on this occasion I’ve had to use my head and go with that, rather than with my heart.

“I certainly believe Sam will bring the team at least 4-6 points a meeting and help take that pressure off the other riders. Those extra few points we can get from Sam at reserve can be a big difference to winning or losing a meeting.”
