PREVIEW: KING’S LYNN v LEICESTER (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

KING’S Lynn face Leicester for the first time this season when the sides meet in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership tonight (Monday) at the Adrian Flux Arena.

That means Stars No.1 Max Fricke faces his former club after three successful years with the Lion which included a KO Cup Final victory for the Lions over Lynn last summer.

The home side are looking for back-to-back home wins and they have Paco Castagna back from injury, but Rising Star Jody Scott is once again ruled out and Jake Mulford steps in.

The visitors are at full strength as they seek to bounce back from a heavy 61-29 defeat at Belle Vue last Monday.

Stars manager Rob Lyon said: “It’s very important that we get the two points on Monday. We can’t afford any slip-ups at home, we need to win our home meetings and we need to win them by a decent margin to stand any chance of aggregate points, that’s the whole point of it.

“This league is quite tight and it will be all the way through I think, so we look forward to Monday and try and build on that win we had last week against Northampton.

“We just need to find that little bit more consistency. We find it sometimes but it’s not there all the time, which is so frustrating, but it’s got to be there somewhere!”

Lions boss Stewart Dickson said: “The Belle Vue match has gone now, and that was the message I put out in the group chat a day or so later.

“One bad meeting doesn’t define us as a team, and now we have to move on to King’s Lynn, and to Sheffield on Thursday and start afresh.

“Obviously there’s the Max Fricke factor and he’ll want to do well, but let’s be honest, he does well regardless of who he’s racing against so it doesn’t make much difference to us. Any rider will want to do well against his old team, but it will be good to go there, shake hands and then get on with business.”
