PREVIEW: GLASGOW v BIRMINGHAM (Champ)

GLASGOW host Birmingham at Ashfield tonight (Friday) in a meeting which will decide the final Championship play-off place.

The Brummies need to avoid defeat in order to make it into the top six, which would be at the expense of Scunthorpe.

But the Tigers also have plenty to race for this weekend and are likely to need two home wins in order to make the top two and secure and automatic semi-final spot.

Birmingham are without Valentin Grobauer and Paco Castagna due to commitments abroad, with Connor Coles and Drew Kemp stepping in.

Boss Laurence Rogers said: “The boys will go there with determination and hope the Scottish air inspires them like it did at Edinburgh recently.

“A draw or a win is what we need, and let’s be honest, not many people at all will fancy us doing that at Glasgow, especially when they’re still chasing that second spot themselves.

“But you can never write anybody off in speedway, and we will give it absolutely everything.”

GLASGOW: Craig Cook, Broc Nicol, Sam Jensen, Tom Brennan, Ricky Wells, Narcin Nowak, Connor Bailey.
BIRMINGHAM: Chris Harris, Connor Coles, James Shanes, Ashley Morris, Erik Riss, Drew Kemp, Jack Thomas.
