PREVIEW: ARMADALE v LEICESTER (NDL)

FORMER Edinburgh man William Lawson steps in for the club’s NDL team when they host Leicester tonight (Friday).

Lawson, who lost his place with the Monarchs last month, will guest for the Armadale Devils, for whom No.1 Nathan Greaves retired recently.

The Lion Cubs continue to operate rider-replacement for Joe Lawlor at the start of a busy weekend which also features a home match against Kent tomorrow.

Armadale’s Danny Phillips scored 15 points against Kent last week, and said: “Scoring big is always a confidence booster, but it helps more when I haven’t been riding as much as I wanted to be.

“If I was riding more, I reckon scores like that would be more common from me so hopefully it will be the same again this Friday, although I think it might be a harder match.

“I think Leicester are close to full strength but I’m confident we can get the result that we need.”

Cubs boss Dave Howard said: “We always look to come away from our away matches with something, and there’s a great fighting spirit in the team.”

ARMADALE: William Lawson, Gregor Millar, Tom Woolley, George Rothery, Danny Phillips, Archie Freeman, Lewis Millar.
LEICESTER: Dan Thompson, Ben Trigger, Tom Spencer, Joe Lawlor R/R, Joe Thompson, Kai Ward, Mickie Simpson.
