PREVIEW: KING’S LYNN v LEICESTER (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)
KING’S Lynn must win their final home fixture against Leicester tonight (Thursday) and then hope for good news elsewhere to maintain their play-off hopes.
The Stars need victory over the Lions coupled with a home defeat for Ipswich against Belle Vue in order to take the fight for fourth place into next week’s fixtures.
The aggregate point could also be significant further down the line, with the Lions 14 points up from the reverse fixture last week.
King’s Lynn are at full strength whilst Leicester bring in Jake Allen to guest for the retired Kyle Howarth at reserve, and they also operate rider replacement for Nick Morris who is ruled out for personal reasons.
Stars manager Rob Lyon said: “We’ve got to go for the win and the aggregate point against Leicester, with a maximum of six points to go for, and then see what happens elsewhere.
“Obviously we’ll keep pushing until the end, and until it’s no longer possible, and mathematically we can still make it at the moment so that’s what we have to go for.”
Lions boss Stewart Dickson said: “We want to get more points on the board, and that’s the plan to keep riding well and building confidence ahead of the play-offs.
“The riders who we’re using as guests at the moment are basically getting trials and I’ll go with the best one when the play-offs come around.
“I think it’s fair to say we’re not getting the points that Kyle would have got at reserve, but Jake did okay for us at King’s Lynn when he rode for us before, and he was up for the gig on Thursday so we’ll see how he gets on.”
KING’S LYNN: Max Fricke, Ben Cook, Jan Kvech, Cooper Rushen, Chris Harris, Jordan Jenkins, Jody Scott.
LEICESTER: Ryan Douglas, Drew Kemp, Sam Masters, Dan Thompson, Nick Morris R/R, Jake Allen, Joe Thompson.
