PREVIEW: IPSWICH v SHEFFIELD (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

IPSWICH and Sheffield both bid to get back to winning ways in a vital clash of play-off contenders at Foxhall tonight (Thursday).

The Witches are hanging on to fourth place at present, despite losing at home to Leicester last week, whilst the Tigers are one point and one position behind after being overturned by King’s Lynn at Owlerton.

They do have three matches in hand on their hosts tonight, and they travel with a 14-point advantage for the aggregate point.
Ipswich welcome Richard Lawson back from illness whilst skipper Danny King is hopeful of a return from rib damage. Reserve Kevin Juhl Pedersen is ruled out after a crash at Glasgow, with Will Cairns coming in to guest.

The Tigers have Nicolai Klindt guesting at No.1 for the injured Jack Holder, whilst Jye Etheridge returns at reserve.

Ipswich star Scott Nicholls said: “When a team comes in below full strength, you have to take advantage of it, and you should. But at the same time, never underestimate a wounded animal.

“Sometimes in these situations, other people can step up and take you by surprise. We certainly can’t take anything for granted.

“Having Danny and Richard back is huge. It isn’t just about the points; it’s a team and Danny is our captain. Our unbeaten home record is gone, so it will be nice to get that back on track and start a fresh one.”

Sheffield boss Simon Stead said: “We need to dust ourselves down and pick ourselves back up after losing at home last week.

“We’ve got a team of seven riders and I think that will benefit us massively compared to using R/R to cover Jack at No.1.

“We know we’re more than capable of going to Ipswich and getting a result and if we could manage to do that again, then that would get us right back on track.”
