PREVIEW: LEICESTER v KING’S LYNN (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

IN-FORM Leicester host a resurgent King’s Lynn as the teams currently second and third in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership meet tonight (Thursday).

The Lions have won their last three matches, including home and away against Ipswich last week, and they also raced to a 47-43 victory in the reverse fixture at the Adrian Flux Arena in June.

Meanwhile the Stars gave their play-off hopes a huge boost with their dramatic win at King’s Lynn last time out, and they now head to the Hydroscand Arena tracking former Leicester captain Max Fricke as their No.1.

The home side have Kyle Howarth back from injury but they are without Nick Morris due to a back injury, with rider replacement in operation.

Lions boss Stewart Dickson said: “I think this meeting is set up to be an absolute humdinger, and it could well be our stiffest test at home so far this season.

“It’s an interesting line up from King’s Lynn with Jan Kvech at No.2, there’s no Nick Morris for us – and whilst his away form has been indifferent so far this season, his home scores have been decent.

“With only Kyle and our reserves allowed to take the rider replacement rides we will need all six riders to be on top of their game.”

Stars manager Rob Lyon said: “Winning at Sheffield has helped make up for one of the losses at home, and now another one of those results at Leicester would be very handy indeed.

“It’s certainly put us back in the mix for the top four, and getting points on the board does make a lot of difference psychologically as much as anything.

“We know it’s going to be a tight league all the way through with some shocks here and there, but we need to take that result from Sheffield and try to build on it.”
