DOUGY WINS HIS TESTIMONIAL

LEICESTER star Ryan Douglas enjoyed a hugely successful Testimonial Meeting at the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park – and topped it off by winning the event!

After being rained-off at start-time back in March, the second attempt to run the meeting took place in favourable conditions for the popular Australian who has also represented Scunthorpe and Wolverhampton during his time in British Speedway.

He led the qualifying scores on 13 points and then gated to win the Final ahead of fellow countrymen Josh Pickering, Jason Doyle and Rohan Tungate.

Douglas said: “Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who came along and showed their support today, it really does mean the world.

“To come away with the win in such a strong line-up is something I’ll never forget – it feels really special.

“A big thank you as well to the riders, supporters, sponsors and the committee team for making it all possible. I’m grateful beyond words.”
