PREVIEW: LEICESTER v REDCAR (Champ)

LEICESTER face Redcar in a clash of two of the Championship’s fancied sides at the Paul Chapman & Sons Arena tonight (Saturday).

Lions boss Stewart Dickson is calling for an all-round team effort to defeat the Bears, who ended Glasgow’s winning start to the season last weekend.

The home side operate rider-replacement for Josh Bates who has a shoulder injury. Redcar bring in Richard Lawson to guest for Charles Wright, who is racing in the GP Qualifier at Glasgow, and continue to operate rider-replacement for the injured Jordan Stewart.

Dickson said: “There’s no doubt that Redcar will be a big test for us. We need all seven riders firing, because they are one of the more fancied teams in the league.

“They will present us with a lot of challenges, and if all seven of our riders perform then we should be okay – but if they don’t, then this is one that could bite us on the backside.”

Bears star Michael Palm Toft said: “I think we have got a very solid 1-7 that has the ability to win away meetings, which has been shown with our results so far.

“Personally, I’ve done very well at Leicester in the past and want to give 100 per cent as I always do and put last week’s problems behind me.”

LEICESTER: Nick Morris, Ty Proctor, Kyle Howarth, Josh Bates r/r, Ryan Douglas, Dan Thompson, Joe Thompson.
REDCAR: Richard Lawson, Jordan Stewart r/r, Jake Allen, Anders Rowe, Michael Palm Toft, James Sarjeant, Jordan Jenkins.
