PREVIEW: SCUNTHORPE v EDINBURGH (CAB DIRECT CHAMP) + STEELERS v EDINBURGH (WSRA NDL)

SCUNTHORPE stage a double header at the Eddie Wright Raceway tonight (Friday, 7pm) with both Edinburgh teams providing the opposition.
The Cab Direct Championship clash sees the Scorpions trying to bounce back from a tough weekend in which they lost at home to Poole and then suffered a heavy defeat at Workington.

Meanwhile the Monarchs are up in third place in the table, and a second away win would leave them very well placed for the play-offs.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “We need a reaction from the team after last weekend’s results, which were hugely disappointing.

“I’m not going to kid anyone – at the moment, I feel we’re fighting more not to finish bottom of the league rather than reaching the play-offs.

“It will be another tough meeting against Edinburgh, who are very much in the play-off race and will no doubt fancy their chances, especially with a certain Michael Palm Toft returning to a track he knows very well.”

The WSRA NDL match which follows sees the Steelers operate rider replacement for Luke Harrison who is heading to international duty for GB, whilst Stene Pijper and Ashton Vale make guest appearances, and Sam Woods is now declared in their team at reserve.

For the Monarchs Academy, Ben Trigger is in for Dayle Wood who is racing in the Championship for Berwick, and rider replacement is in operation for Matt Marson.
