COMETS TO STAGE U19 FINAL

WORKINGTON will stage the 2025 British Under-19 Final as part of an extravaganza of Youth Speedway at the GT Tyres Arena on Sunday September 28.

The main event will get underway at 1pm with Ace Pijper defending the title he won at Oxford last season, and this will be followed by a round of the British Youth Championship for 250cc and 125cc classes.

British Youth boss Neil Vatcher said: “I am absolutely delighted for Workington to be hosting a prestige event such as a British Final, and we all knew it was only a matter of time before such an event would be hosted at this venue.

“The whole of British Speedway knows the work that has gone on at the Northside track over the last four or five years to bring the stadium up to FIM standards, and I am sure this British Final will be the first of many prestige meetings to held there.

“Since the date has been arranged a couple of days ago, I have looked at the potential line-up for the Final, and to say that it excites me would be an understatement.

“With the thought already of seeing the current British Under-19 Champion Ace Pijper defending his title against the likes of Luke Harrison, Vinnie Foord, William Cairns and Cooper Rushen to name just a few, I am already counting the days.

“On top of that, straight after the main event the concluding rounds for the 250cc and 125cc British Youth Championship will be taking place, and again anyone that has witnessed the calibre of riders in this year’s Youth Championship – and in particular the 250cc class – will be making a note on their calendars and hoping to attend once again.”
