PREVIEW: EDINBURGH v BERWICK (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

EDINBURGH host Berwick in a meeting with huge play-off implications for both clubs at Armadale tonight (Friday).

A win for the hosts would all but secure a top four finish, whereas a defeat would leave them under serious pressure; whilst the visitors know they realistically need to win each of their last three matches to gatecrash the play-off places.

Edinburgh bring in Ben Whalley to guest for Jordy Loftus who is still serving a mandatory concussion absence, whilst Peter Kildemand and Jordan Jenkins have been ruled out for the Bandits and are replaced by Jason Edwards and Dayle Wood.

Dan Thompson and Nick Morris are scheduled to line up for their respective teams following their crash at Northampton on Monday.

Edinburgh manager Alex Harkess said: “We just have to do what we are capable of doing. If they all do that, they will win because they are good enough.

“They’ve been winning matches without all being good all the time, throwing in the odd bad race. One of these days they will not throw in that bad race and they’ll win quite handsomely.”

Bandits boss Stewart Dickson said: “It isn’t ideal preparation for such an important weekend but whoever lines up for the Bandits in the fixtures the mission is a simple one. Maximum points.

“The focus remains the same. It is our last opportunity to reach the play-offs. Only we can make it happen.”
