GILKES BACK FOR SCORPIONS

DAN Gilkes will return to the Scunthorpe team for their home Cab Direct Championship clash with Plymouth on Friday.

Gilkes crashed out of the Scorpions’ win at Redcar just over a month ago, and he missed their subsequent three away matches at Workington, Edinburgh and Berwick.

His early appearances for the club were at reserve, but he now finds himself in the main body of the side with the Scorpions hoping Nathan Ablitt can keep up his recent form at reserve.

Promoter Rob Godfrey said: “Dan made his return in last weekend’s Jay Cartmell Memorial meeting at Workington and managed a couple of race wins, which is encouraging.

“Nathan was impressive in the recent away matches and hopefully he can continue that form.”
