CHARGERS SPARK TITLE DEFENCE

WSRA NDL champions Oxford completed the double over King’s Lynn with a 52-38 away victory at the Adrian Flux Arena.

The Chargers are up to second in the table as skipper Jody Scott scored a 15-point maximum on familiar territory whilst reserve Harry Fletcher also starred with four race wins in his 13+1 haul.

The home side suffered problems at reserve as youngster Ollie Binns crashed out in Heat 2, suffering a wrist injury, whilst new signing Sam Woods withdrew with knee trouble after five rides. Jake Mulford and Simon Lambert led their scoring with 11+1 apiece.

Scott said: “It’s special to score a maximum around here for the Chargers, since King’s Lynn is my local track – I live just a few miles down the road – and also King’s Lynn are my Premiership club.

“I’m back here on Thursday, racing for them, and the maximum tonight definitely gives me a boost ahead of that.

“The whole team performed really well. Harry is progressing nicely in his second season in the NDL. He’s scoring plenty of points at reserve and no doubt will be in main team very soon. It’s good to see the younger riders coming up through the team.”
