PREVIEW: IPSWICH v LEICESTER (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

IPSWICH defend their unbeaten home record with two riders on the sidelines when they host Leicester at Foxhall tonight (Thursday).

The Lions won the reverse fixture 55-35 on Monday to climb above the Witches in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership, and the Suffolk side are again without skipper Danny King and Richard Lawson.

King  is still ruled out after his crash at King’s Lynn last week, whilst Lawson is serving a mandatory seven-day suspension after not racing at Leicester due to illness.

The Witches operate rider replacement for Lawson with Michael Palm Toft guesting for King, whilst the Lions have Ryan Douglas back after he missed the fixture on Monday with injury, and they again use rider replacement for Kyle Howarth.

Ipswich manager Paul Hurry said: “Keeping that home record intact would be nice. The cards we have been dealt are not the best, but I am sure we’ll do everything we can to get the win.

“We have Michael coming in as a guest and he can make starts and beat the best of them around there. We just need to have a bit of faith in the boys, and we’ll see where we end up.

“You have to deal with the cards you are dealt. Things can’t be helped – injuries and illnesses are going to come along. When they come along together, that’s just bad luck. It is what it is, and we just have to get on with it.”

Lions boss Stewart Dickson said: “Without being disrespectful to Ipswich, I’d like to think we’ve got a point in our pocket at least as we head down there after Monday’s result.

“But we are going there looking for more, and if there is an opportunity to get more than we have to take it.

“Dougy was touch and go for Monday but he went on the side of caution which was the right thing to do and we were able to bring in a good guest, and now it’s good to have him back.”
