DEMI-BLU GOING FOR GOLD

GREAT Britain star Demi-Blu Harris is in Croatia to take part in the FIM Women’s Speedway Academy this week.

Coaching sessions on Thursday and Friday will culminate in two race meetings on Saturday with FIM medals at stake.

Harris, who scored a 12-point maximum to win the Youth Women’s Gold Trophy at the Donji Kraljevec venue last year, will now be competing in the FIM Women’s Speedway Gold Trophy, contested by 250cc under-16 riders.

The senior event is the FIM Women’s Speedway World Cup, upgraded from Gold Trophy status by the FIM for the first time.

Harris said: “I am really looking forward to it. Last year was my first time abroad, and this year I am looking forward to going back. The track was amazing – completely different to over here. It was just great to be there.

“What happened last year was a bit unexpected. We went there with no expectations, and this year, we will just try our best and see what we can do.”
