STRONG FINISH FOR STEELERS

STEELERS completed their WSRA NDL campaign with a 52-38 win at Belle Vue for their first victory on the road this season.

The combined Sheffield/Scunthorpe team will finish fourth in the table but they saved one of their best performances for last.

Two mid-meeting 5-1s saw them extend their lead into double figures and they had the league points in the bag when top scorer Jamie Etherington (10) finished second in Heat 12.

Six of the seven Steelers riders won at least one race, with Sam Woods joining Luke Harris for a 5-1 in Heat 2, whilst Will Cairns dominated for Belle Vue with 14, dropping his only point to Luke Harrison in Heat 13.
