OXFORD OVERCOME RUSHEN CHARGE

OXFORD Chargers raced to a win in their opening WSRA National Development League fixture – despite another sensational display from Cooper Rushen.

The 15-year-old scored 12 points in a guest appearance for Middlesbrough, winning all four of the races he completed after suffering mechanical trouble when leading Heat 1.

Chargers won the match 48-42 with skipper Jody Scott scoring 11+1, and he was unbeaten until the final race. Darryl Ritchings added 10+2 on his debut for the club.

Ace Pijper was also in good form for the Tigers as he scored 12+1.
