SHANES – THE PLACE TO BE!

BIRMINGHAM favourite James Shanes reckons Perry Barr is the place to be on Wednesday nights in 2021.

The Brummies return to home action on June 2 against Redcar, with their opening Championship fixture at Berwick next weekend – and their hopes are high for a major improvement on their wooden spoon campaign of 2019.

Shanes said: “We’ve got a team that could win the league this year. It’s a very tasty team that’s got the likes of Bomber (Chris Harris), and Erik Riss was a great late signing as well.

“But there’s us other boys further down the team as well who are all more than capable, and we’ll be chipping in as well.

“It certainly looks exciting, that’s for sure; it’s another team of racers, another team of showmen, and we’re in for some good fun on Wednesday nights I think.”
