LAMBERT TO SKIPPER SCORPIONS

SCUNTHORPE have named Simon Lambert as their new club captain for the 2021 season.

The 32-year-old first rode for the Scorpions in 2009 and made a successful mid-season return to the Eddie Wright Raceway in 2019. He has previous experience in the captaincy role with Peterborough and Boston.

Lambert said: “I am very honoured and proud to be named captain of Scunthorpe this year. It’s not only a proud moment for me but also my family.

“It’s great news for my sponsors and fans who have supported me throughout my career.

“I will be doing my very best to keep the team spirit high within the team. I will be behind all the boys 100 per cent and who knows we might be able to lift a trophy by the end of the year.”
