SUPER SHOW FROM 250cc YOUNGSTERS

GREAT Britain’s youngsters claimed a fantastic result with second place in the opening round of the FIM European 250cc Pairs Championship in Gdansk on Tuesday.

The team was led by Cooper Rushen, who had one of his best-ever meetings in his very short career, scoring a terrific 15 points.

William Cairns added 12 and Seth Norman, who competed in two races, scored a well-earned three to give the GB team a score of 30 points, just three behind the winners Poland.

GB Youth boss Neil Vatcher said: “Conditions at the Gdansk track were difficult all afternoon with soaring temperatures, however the British team rode to their full potential and had probably one of their most successful results on Polish soil for many years.

“With this event involving eight nations each team competed in seven heats in a 28-heat format; therefore, it was a busy day for all concerned including the riders, mechanics, team managers and all the officials and track staff!”

The series resumes in September with rounds in Slovenia and the Czech Republic.
