FLINT NINTH AS POLES TOP THE BOX
LEON Flint finished ninth in the opening round of the SGP2 series as Wiktor Przyjemski headed up a Polish one-two-three in Malilla.
Flint, who borrowed an engine from fellow GB star Dan Bewley, missed out on a place in the semi-finals on countback having taken one win and four third places from his scheduled rides, being edged out by Mathias Pollestad who had a win and two second places.
Przyjemski won the Final ahead of fellow countrymen Bartosz Banbor and Sebastian Szostak, with Swedish favourite Philip Hellstrom-Bangs was fourth.
Flint collected eight championship points from the meeting and now moves on to Round of the series in Latvia on September 6.
He said: “Some positives to take, but naturally gutted to just miss out on the semis.
“Big thank you to Dan Bewley for letting me borrow an engine as mine went pop in practice and a big thank you for all the support, I appreciate it very much.”
