PREVIEW: EDINBURGH v OXFORD (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

EDINBURGH welcome back No.1 Josh Pickering for their Cab Direct Championship clash with Oxford at Armadale tonight (Friday).

However, the Monarchs are unable to track a full septet as reserve Max James is ruled out with a broken rib, and he is replaced by Max Perry who rides for the club in the NDL.

The Cheetahs travel in good form after a big home win over Scunthorpe on Wednesday, but they are without both regular reserves with Henry Atkins still injured and Ashton Boughen on SGP2 duty. Former Edinburgh rider Jacob Hook guests once again, with Jody Scott stepping up from the Oxford Chargers.

Monarchs star Kye Thomson said: “It will be tough, their top two are strong and Cameron (Heeps) knows his way around. All we can do is outgate them and they won’t get past!

“It’s all about self-belief, I believe we can do it and also claw back some away wins later in the season.”

Cheetahs boss Peter Schroeck said: “We have some riders with a really good record there and we can definitely achieve a result.”

EDINBURGH: Josh Pickering, Lasse Fredriksen, Kye Thomson, Paco Castagna, Justin Sedgmen, Max James, Connor Coles.
OXFORD: Sam Masters, Luke Killeen, Jordan Jenkins, Cameron Heeps, Scott Nicholls, Jacob Hook, Jody Scott.
SCB Referee: Craig Ackroyd
