WITCHES SUFFER HUGE DOYLE BLOW

IPSWICH star Jason Doyle has been ruled out of the remainder of the season after his crash at King’s Lynn last week.

The Australian had been in sensational form in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership and also re-established himself as a serious World title contender, winning the Grand Prix of Poland in Warsaw last month.

Doyle suffered four broken ribs and a lung contusion in the crash at the Adrian Flux Arena, but a shoulder injury proved to be of more concern – and with two snapped tendons and a torn rotator cuff, he requires an operation on Tuesday with a recovery period estimated at four to six months.

Doyle said: “Normally I would ride with broken bones and injuries, but this one I can’t get out of.

“I have no strength and I can’t wait until the end of the season to get it sorted. I must have it repaired fast or it will have long-term consequences.

“I’m devastated, but life still goes on. I am lucky I can spend time now with my family, my little baby girl and my wife.

“This isn’t the end, and I have loads more to give. I just need time to recover and repair for another crack at World class speedway.”
