PREVIEW: BERWICK v SCUNTHORPE (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

BERWICK have booked Craig Cook and Connor Coles to step in for their two injured riders when they face Scunthorpe at Shielfield Park tonight (Saturday).

The Bandits’ defeat at Poole on Wednesday saw them lose Lewis Kerr and Bastian Borke, so Cook comes in at No. 1 with Coles, who rode for the club last season, stepping in at reserve in the Cab Direct Championship clash.

And Berwick boss Stewart Dickson has warned his side not to expect a repeat of the last time the sides met at the Border venue, when the Bandits took a 54-36 win in the Cab Direct KO Cup.

He said: “The Scorpions have got their act together since that night as we are only too painfully aware following the second leg hammering.

“Ever since I was appointed Berwick team manager I have said that we must win our home meetings in addition to being competitive on the road and picking up aggregate points.

“Do that and every time you read the league table we will be at the right end of it, and on the right side of the cut-off point for reaching the end of season knockouts.”

BERWICK: Craig Cook, Danyon Hume, Jye Etheridge, Drew Kemp, Rory Schlein, Freddy Hodder, Connor Coles.
SCUNTHORPE: Kyle Howarth, Connor Mountain, Simon Lambert, Jake Allen, Michael Palm Toft, Nathan Ablitt, Luke Harrison.
SCB Referee: Jim McGregor
