SCHROECK SETS SPIRES TARGET

OXFORD manager Peter Schroeck says a warm welcome for Belle Vue at Cowley on Thursday will end prior to the first race!

The Aces are set to make their first visit to Sandy Lane since way back in 2007, and Schroeck is keen for the Spires to overturn a 12-point deficit for the aggregate point.

He said: “Belle Vue are a big club, full of speedway history, and the Aces haven’t been at Oxford for many years.

“It will be a fabulous occasion to have Dan Bewley and the rest of the Aces competing at Oxford Stadium, but we’re keen to send them back to Manchester with no league points to show for their efforts.

“It would be very nice to be the first team to take the aggregate point off the Aces this season and I honestly think we’re capable of doing it.”
