PREVIEW: LEICESTER v MILDENHALL (NDL)

LEICESTER complete their regular NDL campaign at home to Mildenhall tonight (Friday) in a rehearsal for next month’s KO Cup Final.

The Lion Cubs have topped the league table and will meet Oxford in the Grand Final, whilst the Fen Tigers are set for a fourth-place finish.

Max Clegg guests for the injured Dan Thompson for the home side with rider replacement operating for Joe Thompson who is on Championship duty with Poole. The visitors track Kai Ward at reserve for the unavailable Sam Woolley.

Leicester boss Dave Howard said: “We are already guaranteed our place in the league Grand Final, but we want to win well against Mildenhall to give us a boost for our Cup Final mindset.

“As always we want to keep our strong home record going to keep us in a positive place for what will be another big October.”

Mildenhall manager Jason Gardner said: “This will be an ideal opportunity for our riders to assess the best engine set-ups to use and the way to ride around the particularly tricky Leicester circuit.

“And after the run of results we’ve experienced against the Lion Cubs it’s a chance to go some way to laying that bogey at just the right time in advance of the really important matter of that KOC Final to come.”
