PREVIEW: BERWICK v BELLE VUE (NDL)

BERWICK hand a debut to teenager Senna Summers in their final NDL match at home to Belle Vue tonight (Friday).

Summers is the son of former Bandits racer Aaron and he has been a regular at the club’s purpose-built Duns Training Track, with most of his competitive experience coming on motocross circuits.

He steps in for the unavailable Jamie Halder, with Luke Crang replaces Steve Boxall – and Archie Freeman makes a welcome return from injury in place of Greg Blair, with rider replacement in operation for Connor Coles.

The Colts use r/r for Sam Hagon whilst Ed Davison and Sam Woods step in for Matt Marson (unavailable) and Luke Muff (injured).

Bullets boss Kevin Little said: “When the National League team was formed, its main purpose was to provide a pathway from the training academy at Duns into professional racing, so it is fitting that in the Bullets’ last meeting someone on that pathway is given an opportunity.

“It has perhaps come a little quicker than anticipated but Senna has come on leaps and bounds this summer and has some very experienced heads in his corner.”

Belle Vue co-manager Graham Goodwin said: “It has been a real challenge for both sides to ensure we track a competitive team for this meeting, and while it won’t have any impact on the play-offs we’re still taking this as seriously as if it did.

“The boys have had a brilliant season and we’re still gutted that third place in the table wasn’t enough to see them contest for the title, but hopefully we can finish on a high.”

BERWICK: Luke Crang, Senna Summers, Archie Freeman, Connor Coles, Danny Phillips, Kieran Douglas, Mason Watson.
BELLE VUE: James Pearson, Ed Davison, Sam Hagon r/r, Freddy Hodder, Jack Smith, Jack Shimelt, Sam Woods.
