PREVIEW: LEICESTER v WORKINGTON (NDL + KOC SF)

LEICESTER stage a double header against Workington tonight (Saturday, 6.30pm) as they look to make progress in two competitions.

The sides meet first in the NDL with the Comets holding an 11-point advantage for the aggregate point.

Should the Lion Cubs take all three points, they will be on the very brink of confirming a Grand Final place due to their race points advantage over Mildenhall.

The Cubs then face the Comets in the KO Cup semi-final, with the home side 16 points up from the first leg.

Alfie Bowtell guests for the injured Dan Thompson for Leicester, whilst Kai Ward stands in at reserve for the visitors with Harry McGurk taking a break from the sport.

Cubs boss Dave Howard said: “We have the league match first and that’s a big one because we’ve got to win by 12 points to get the aggregate point.

“Then we’ve got to defend our 16-point lead in the Cup so it’s a really important night for us.”

LEICESTER: Alfie Bowtell, Ashton Boughen, Max Perry, Tom Spencer, Joe Thompson, Vinnie Foord, Max James.
WORKINGTON: Connor Bailey, Luke Crang, Luke Harrison, Sam McGurk, Ace Pijper, Elliot Kelly, Kai Ward.
