WOLLEY JOINS FEN TIGERS

MILDENHALL have confirmed the signing of Sam Woolley for the closing stages of the NDL campaign after Josh Warren was ruled out by injury.

Woolley, who spent the bulk of the season with rivals Kent, comes in with Warren having to admit defeat in his fight to return this year after a nasty crash in the home clash with Leicester in early August.

Fen Tigers boss Jason Gardner said: “It’s very tough on Josh and on the team that we are losing him for what remains of this season – just when he was getting right back to top form. 

“But all who saw that high-speed crash can’t be surprised to hear that it’s going to take longer to get back to racing fitness. The whole club wishes Josh the very best for his recovery and thank him for his great efforts for the team this season.

“We were aware that Sam was available to sign as a replacement and of course we did use him at reserve in our away match at his old club Kent the Sunday before last. 

“I’m delighted that we’ve formalised the position now and all welcome Sam, who comes in on a 3.00 points average, to the Fen Tigers ranks.”
