SHIMELT JOINS COLTS

BELLE Vue have handed local youngster Jack Shimelt his first full-time place in the National Development League with the Colts.

Shimelt comes into the team in place of the outgoing Paul Bowen and will make his official debut in the home clash with Workington on Friday.

Club CEO Mark Lemon said: “We are sorry to see Paul go, but with the play-offs fast approaching and his circumstances meaning he would miss some key fixtures, we feel the change was necessary.

“We are very pleased to welcome Jack to Belle Vue for the remainder of the season. He is a young and very enthusiastic lad who is always prepared to give his best whenever we call.

“He has shown he has the right attitude towards his racing and we are fully prepared to give him this opportunity, which we are confident he will grasp with both hands.”
