FEN TIGERS’ HOPES HIT
KENT inflicted a blow to Mildenhall’s NDL play-off hopes with a 47-43 win over the Fen Tigers at Iwade.
The Royals were ten points up after Heat 12 and although Alfie Bowtell and Lee Complin gave the visitors hope with a 5-1 in Heat 13, home duo Tom Woolley and Connor King successfully shared the penultimate race.
Nathan Ablitt top-scored for the hosts with 12 points and Ben Morley won his first three rides, scoring nine.
Former Royals rider Bowtell notched 13 for the Fen Tigers and Complin picked up 10+1, but they now find themselves two points adrift of second place, having raced a match more than the sides above them, although they did pick up the aggregate point.
Fen Tigers boss Jason Gardner said: “It was another frustrating meeting. Missing Josh Warren at reserve cost us very badly, when one considers how well he rode the Iwade track in our previous meetings here.
“Our weakness at reserve was compounded by young William Richardson having some bad bike problems this afternoon. We may to accept that Josh is likely now to be out for the rest of the season, so that’s not going to be easy to deal with, with so few options around to draft in a replacement.”
