BEN BACK FOR BULLETS

BERWICK have handed Ben Rathbone a recall to their National Development League team as cover for the injured Archie Freeman.

Rathbone rode for the Bullets in 2021-22 but was without a place in the NDL season, and he will return in their clash with Oxford on June 3.

Manager Kevin Little said: “The last couple of meetings have shown that rider-replacement becomes almost impossible if you suffer further misfortune such as the loss of guest Jason Garrad at Kent or Josh Embleton last weekend.

“Ben has plenty of experience at this level, especially around Shielfield Park where four of our next five fixtures are.

“He was disappointed to miss out on a team place in the first place and determined to grab the opportunity.”
