PREVIEW: BERWICK v WORKINGTON (NDL)

BERWICK welcome back Mason Watson and Josh Embleton for tonight’s (Saturday) NDL home clash with Workington.

The sides are due to meet twice over the weekend with the return at Northside on Sunday afternoon, and the Bullets duo return after missing last Sunday’s defeat at Kent.

The home side continue to operate rider replacement for Archie Freeman whilst the Comets bring in former Berwick rider Lee Complin to guest for Connor Bailey, who is on duty for Redcar in the BSN Series – and the visitors track also recent former Bullets Luke Crang and Ace Pijper.

Berwick skipper Greg Blair said: “Some of the Workington lads have done more laps around Berwick than half of our team, so we need to be on our toes from the get-go.

“Myself and Mason are the only survivors from the original Bullets, but over those two and a bit seasons many teams have come here fancying their chances and gone home with nothing to show.

“And of course there is the reverse fixture the following afternoon with the aggregate point also up for grabs.”

Comets boss James Denham said: “The lads know what they have to do. After (last) Saturday, I’m confident the boys can go up there and get a result.

“We have Ace and Crangy who rode for the Bullets last season, so I’m hoping they are still dialled in and can help the other boys.”

BERWICK: Connor Coles, Archie Freeman r/r, Jamie Halder, Danny Phillips, Greg Blair, Mason Watson, Josh Embleton.
WORKINGTON: Lee Complin, Ace Pijper, Sam McGurk, Harry McGurk, Luke Crang, Kelsey Dugard, Elliot Kelly.
