PREVIEW: PLYMOUTH v BELLE VUE (NDL)

BELLE Vue co-boss Steve Williams is optimistic of a strong performance in the Colts’ season opener at Plymouth tonight (Tuesday).

Nathan Ablitt, Archie Freeman and Freddy Hodder all make their debuts for the Manchester side, who are amongst the favourites for the NDL title this season.

Williams said: “On paper these are two very evenly matched teams, but our boys are really eager to kick off our league campaign and we’re all looking forward to this meeting.

“Nathan was there with Poole last week, Jack [Smith] rode for the Gladiators in the Championship last year so we’re not going into this cold by any means.

“It is a small and technical track when compared to Belle Vue and the Plymouth boys already have a meeting under their belt, and they are no slouches on home shale.

“But I see no reason why we can’t go there and do a job good enough to get a few early season points on the board especially with such a fantastic group dynamic.”

PLYMOUTH: Dan Gilkes, Connor King, Richard Andrews, Adam Extance, Henry Atkins, Ben Trigger, Eli Meadows.

BELLE VUE: Jack Smith, Sam McGurk, Nathan Ablitt, Jack Parkinson-Blackburn, Harry McGurk, Archie Freeman, Freddy Hodder.
