PREVIEW: KENT v MILDENHALL (NDL)

MILDENHALL will claim the National Development League title if they take maximum points from their trip to Kent tonight (Tuesday).

A win of any kind will take the Fen Tigers to the top of the table, and whilst four league points would make them officially champions, three points would almost certainly be enough due to their points difference supremacy over current leaders Berwick.

The Royals themselves still have title aspirations and need to win all three of their remaining home matches as well as hoping Mildenhall slip up at Armadale this weekend.

Fen Tigers promoter Greg Palmer said: “In many ways it is a pity that the league will decided so late in the season, but it has kept the interest alive and we head into the next two meetings with a clear idea of what is required of us.

“This has been a difficult but enjoyable season following the pandemic and it has been great to see the crowds back at Mildenhall, and hopefully many of our loyal supporters can make the trip to Kent to cheer the lads on.

“Kent will be extremely tough opponents for sure and they have a very strong top three, but we are ready and the lads can’t wait for the meeting.”

KENT: Dan Gilkes, Vinnie Foord, Ryan Kinsley, Alex Spooner, Jake Mulford, Josh Warren, Jacob Clouting.
MILDENHALL: Jordan Jenkins, Luke Ruddick r/r, Sam Hagon, Nathan Ablitt, Jason Edwards, Sam Bebee, Elliot Kelly.
