ABLITT JOINING FEN TIGERS

MILDENHALL are set to bring in Nathan Ablitt for the closing weeks of the National Development League campaign.

Ablitt, who had been racing for Eastbourne, is expected to join the Fen Tigers from September 12 as he is currently serving a mandatory period on the sidelines due to concussion, and he will replace Luke Muff in the line-up.

Manager Malcolm Vasey said: “This was no easy decision for the owners and myself. Luke is a great team man and it has been a pleasure to have him at the club, he has done everything asked of him and was improving with experience.

“But, and it is a big but, in speedway things change quickly and with the Eastbourne situation coming to a head we had the opportunity to sign a highly talented young rider already gaining Championship experience who is riding as a reserve in our league.

“I was very much looking forward to Nathan being with us for the 2020 season, but Covid put paid to that and I thought the chance had gone, but now he joins us for the remainder of the 2021 season as we look to finish the season in style.”
