PREVIEW: GLASGOW v REDCAR (Cab Direct Champ)

REDCAR boss Gavin Parr believes a KO Cup repeat is possible when the Bears travel to Glasgow tonight (Friday) in the Cab Direct Championship.

The Teesside outfit were 48-42 winners at Ashfield earlier this season to secure progression in the Cup, and former Tigers Connor Bailey and Danyon Hume will be out to impress again.

Youngster Luke Harrison steps up to senior level for the first time as a guest for the injured Jake Mulford, whilst the home side will be keen to bounce back from their heavy BSN Series Final defeat at Poole in midweek.

Parr said: “The way Connor and Danyon went at Glasgow last time means they will be fearing us turning up, which is always a good thing, although this time I think the track will be different to our previous visit.

“Nevertheless, we will be going there full of confidence after our last performance at Ashfield.

“Luke and his Dad are very keen to test Championship level speedway and after Glasgow we will reassess our options for our upcoming fixtures.”

Glasgow boss Cami Brown said: “That result at Poole was not good enough. We were well beaten and it’s incredibly frustrating. We will fight for every point, nothing less is acceptable at Glasgow.

“But we cannot afford any sort of hangover from that. We need to close the door on it, learn from it and move on.

“We have to re-focus for a really tough meeting against Redcar at Ashfield. It’s a must-win for the club.”

GLASGOW: Chris Harris, Marcin Nowak, Tom Brennan, Claus Vissing, Benjamin Basso, Lee Complin, Ace Pijper.
REDCAR: Danny King, Danyon Hume, Connor Bailey, Erik Riss, Charles Wright, Jason Edwards, Luke Harrison.
