WOOLLEY TO LEAD ROYALS

KENT have appointed Tom Woolley as their new captain after completing a move for the former Armadale racer as part of a full line-up announcement.

The Royals have also brought Nathan Ablitt back to the club after he started his career with a stint at their old Central Park home in 2019, whilst Rhys Naylor comes into the team after a successful return to the sport with Plymouth this year – and is already a familiar face at Iwade having begun the season as mechanic for Alfie Bowtell.

Ben Morley, Connor King, Sam Woolley and Joe Alcock are all back after racing for the Royals in 2022, with Alcock back to fitness after suffering season-ending injuries in late-May.

Promoter Si Kellow said: “We wanted to build on what we learned last year, and the team we have put together is well known to Royals fans, with technically only one new face in the form of Tom Woolley.

“We really hope to see more than six teams in the league, but if that is what the number turns out to be, then we hope that we can put together a calendar of meaningful racing for fans and riders and make the most of the available dates.”
