PREVIEW: PREMIERSHIP PAIRS Round 5

BELLE Vue stage a league title celebration ahead of tonight’s (Thursday) fifth round of the Premiership Pairs.

The Aces will be represented on-track by Brady Kurtz, Matej Zagar and Tom Brennan, but the remaining members of their successful side will also be on parade ahead of tapes-up.

Ipswich lead the Pairs series by 12 points going into the meeting and could secure the silverware tonight, with King’s Lynn currently their nearest challengers ahead of Sheffield and Belle Vue.

Aces boss Mark Lemon said: “The Premiership Pairs has been a long time coming in Manchester, after our initial staging was washed out due to poor weather in September.

“But with a favourable forecast this time around, we are very excited to welcome some of the best duos in Premiership speedway ready to do battle.

“From a Belle Vue perspective, we have the riders to do the job in Brady, Matej and Tom, and we’re still very much in the running for a podium finish and to win the trophy.

“It’s also the last time we’ll have all the boys together trackside with the trophy for them to celebrate our league win in front of their home crowd at our last meeting of 2022.”

The fifth round of the Premiership Pairs is sponsored by Grant Henderson Tankers, and will once again be streamed live by the British Speedway Network.
