PREVIEW: SHEFFIELD v WOLVERHAMPTON (PO SF)

SHEFFIELD take a four-point lead into the home leg of their Premiership play-off semi-final against Wolverhampton tonight (Thursday).

The Tigers were impressive 47-43 winners at Monmore Green in Monday’s opener, but a 5-1 to Wolves in the last race gave them some hope ahead of the return.

Two of the three clashes between the clubs in South Yorkshire this season have ended 46-44 either way, although the most recent contest in early September saw the Tigers win 51-39.

Sheffield skipper Kyle Howarth said: “A four point lead is something we’re very happy with, but the attitude for us now is that it’s 0-0 again.

“We need to treat it as though there’s no advantage, that we need to go again and that it’s a fresh page.

“Every point is going to be crucial so we just have to stay calm, stay patient, don’t do anything stupid and just keep doing what we have been doing.”

Wolves star Nick Morris said: “All the boys know that this is doable. It’s never ideal to go into the second leg off a defeat but we’re not throwing the towel in yet. We’ve gone to Sheffield this season and won already.

“Four points is four points – we’ve just got to go there and win again. We don’t want to bow out of these play-offs and we don’t want our season to end here.”

SHEFFIELD: Jack Holder, Lewis Kerr, Adam Ellis, Kyle Howarth, Tobiasz Musielak, Justin Sedgmen, Connor Mountain.
WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Steve Worrall, Luke Becker, Ryan Douglas, Nick Morris, Drew Kemp, Leon Flint.
