TIGERS AIMING HIGH

GLASGOW director Peter Facenna is backing the club’s new-look side to put in another strong chase for Championship honours this season.

The Tigers are seeking play-off qualification for a sixth successive campaign, and then to take the title having been edged out by Leicester in the 2019 Grand Final.

Facenna said: “We’ve built the team slightly differently this year. We always want to have a strong reserve and that is how we’ve set the team up.

“We believe some of the guys are on false averages for their potential – based on what they can achieve or they’ve achieved in the past. Ricky (Wells), Ulrich (Ostergaard), Justin (Sedgmen) and Broc (Nicol) all have huge potential to up their game.

“There are some really strong teams in the league this year. As usual our aim will be to at least reach the play-offs – which we’ve achieved in the last five years – and hopefully we can go on and win some silverware.”

Facenna has also confirmed home matches will be streamed with supporters as yet unable to return to Ashfield due to the ongoing restrictions.
