PREVIEW: PLYMOUTH v POOLE (PO QF)

PLYMOUTH promoter Mark Phillips is calling for a big atmosphere at the Coliseum tonight ahead of the second leg of their Championship play-off quarter-final against Poole.

The Pirates are strong favourites to progress to the semis after running up a 60-30 win at Wimborne Road last week – but Phillips insists the tie is not over just yet.

Scott Nicholls and Aaron Summers come in as guests for the Gladiators, who also operate rider replacement for the suspended Ben Barker, whilst Poole are at full strength.

Phillips said: “We cannot deny that we have a huge mountain to climb but we will not be throwing in the towel until it is mathematically impossible.

“If we can feed off the passionate home support and exploit a little bit of complacency that I detect from Dorset-way, then why can’t we surprise the speedway world and give one of the division’s top clubs another hot Devon welcome and another good thrashing on the night?

“We really do need the South-West’s speedway supporters to come out and back and support us. It’s a night to get as many down to the Coliseum as possible to create a wall of noise and atmosphere that will resonate for a long time in the history of our club.”

PLYMOUTH: Scott Nicholls, Ben Morley, Ben Barker R/R, Aaron Summers, Hans Andersen, Lee Complin, Connor Coles.
POOLE: Danny King, Ben Cook, Steve Worrall, Drew Kemp, Richard Lawson, Zach Cook, Nathan Ablitt.
