PREVIEW: POOLE v REDCAR (Champ)

POOLE need a victory at home to Redcar tonight (Wednesday) to keep alive their hopes of automatic qualification for the Championship play-off semi-finals.

The Pirates round off their regular league campaign with their place in the top six secure, but they are looking to put pressure on Glasgow in the race for the top two, with reduced admission prices in place for the meeting.

Meanwhile the Bears still need points to guarantee a play-off spot of their own, and hand a debut to former Pirates rider Kyle Newman whilst rider replacement operates for the injured Erik Riss.

Poole promoter Danny Ford said: “We are really hoping to have a good turnout for Wednesday’s meeting. It is the last team match we have during the summer holidays and there is a lot resting on this result.

“Thankfully we have gained a bit of momentum of late, after a recent blip in results and it is important to keep that going as we head into the play-offs.

“Not only that, we lost out to Redcar on Friday night at Oxford (in the Pairs) so there is a score to settle there.

“We are really hoping to see plenty of new faces along with our very loyal regulars and everyone can play their part in lifting the side. We have branded this a Summer Special and let’s hope it will prove to be a very special night.”

POOLE: Steve Worrall, Drew Kemp, Danny King, Ben Cook, Richard Lawson, Zach Cook, Nathan Ablitt.
REDCAR: Charles Wright, Erik Riss R/R, Jason Edwards, Kasper Andersen, Lewis Kerr, Kyle Newman, Jordan Jenkins.
