ALL CHANGE FOR BRUMMIES

BIRMINGHAM have confirmed their move into the top-flight in 2024 will see an all-new team take to the track at Perry Barr.

The Brummies have joined the Sports Insure Premiership with their home race-night switching to Monday, and CEO Nigel Tolley has stated there will be no riders retained from this year’s Cab Direct Championship line-up.

Tolley said: “The likes of Sedgy (Justin Sedgmen) and Alfie (Bowtell) were considered on a shortlist, but we’ve decided to go for a totally fresh approach as we step up to the top league.

“It’s going to be a very, very big leap but we’ll be giving it more than a good go.

“We’ve already started to build the team, but we’ve really had to start from scratch.

“It needs to be worthy of being in the Premiership but we’re going to put out a team that will be very competitive, we’re not in it just to make up the numbers.”
