PREVIEW: LEICESTER v SHEFFIELD (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

LEICESTER bid to bounce back from two heavy away defeats when they host a much-changed Sheffield side at the Hydroscand Arena tonight (Thursday).

The Lions celebrated KO Cup success at the end of last month, but league visits to Belle Vue and Owlerton in early August saw them score just 29 and 33 points respectively.

They face a Tigers side who are without their regular top three with Jack Holder and Josh Pickering injured, whilst Chris Holder has a commitment in Poland.

Richard Lawson and Tom Brennan step in for the visitors, whilst the Lions have Kevin Juhl Pedersen guesting at reserve in place of the retired Kyle Howarth.

Leicester manager Stewart Dickson said: “I realise Sheffield have not got who they would normally have, but at the same time we have a meeting to win, and we just need to approach it in the way we do every other meeting.

“The most important thing for me is not to lose at home, not that we write off any away matches, but for some of the boys who had indifferent performances last week having a home meeting will be good for them.”

Tigers boss Simon Stead: “Richard had a real good couple of years around Leicester and Tom is more than capable of beating anyone in any given race.

“The rest of our lads will want to have their say and do the supporters proud as much as they can as well.

“Leicester will fancy their chances with our far from ideal team situation I’m sure, but as ever we’ll be going there to give it a real good go and at the end of the day, it’s another opportunity to add to our tally.”
