PREVIEW: LEICESTER v BIRMINGHAM (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

LEICESTER look to complete the double over Midlands rivals Birmingham when the sides meet at the Pidcock Motorcycles Arena, Beaumont Park tonight (Thursday).

The Lions were impressive 43-29 winners at Perry Barr last Monday and followed that up by defeating Belle Vue at home to give their season some momentum after an indifferent start.

But the Brummies are still without a win, with one point on the board so far, and both teams have switched riding order for the meeting.

Luke Becker and Richard Lawson exchange places for the Lions whilst the visitors, who have Wiktor Lampart back from injury and will track their full one-to-seven for the first time, have moved captain Steve Worrall to No.2.

Lions skipper Max Fricke said: “Early in the season it takes a couple of weeks to kind of iron out some things, and even myself just to get back into a little bit of form.

“Throughout the team I think we can continue to build and continue to improve on the result against Belle Vue, and it’s really promising for us looking forward.

“Thursday will hopefully be another meeting that will be a good one for us, if we can put in another strong performance, and that will keep us moving up that league table.”

Brummies star Tom Brennan said: “There is a stigma around not yet winning a meeting and I think we need to try and let that go.

“We know Leicester are very good and they did show us around our track last week, they definitely handed it to us.

“So we know it will be difficult to go to their place – but from here on in, we’re going with a bit of a different approach and we just need to stick at it.”

LEICESTER: Max Fricke, Luke Becker, Sam Masters, Richard Lawson, Ryan Douglas, Drew Kemp, Joe Thompson.
BIRMINGHAM: Vaclav Milik, Steve Worrall, Wiktor Lampart, Tom Brennan, Piotr Pawlicki, Zach Cook, Leon Flint.
SCB Referee: Mick Bates
