PREVIEW: OXFORD v KING’S LYNN (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

OXFORD manager Peter Schroeck is warning his side not to under-estimate his former club King’s Lynn when the clubs meet at Cowley tonight (Thursday).

The Spires suffered their first home defeat in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership last time out against Ipswich, and have since signed Erik Riss – whilst Scott Nicholls comes in as a guest for the injured Lewis Kerr.

Nicolai Klindt, the man displaced by Riss, has since rejoined the Stars but not in time for tonight’s meeting, so they operate rider replacement with Ben Cook guesting for Benjamin Basso who is still on the sidelines.

Schroeck said: “I don’t believe King’s Lynn’s early position in the table reflects the squad’s true ability. They have riders who have been there and done it at Premiership level, and some exciting young talents too.

“Erik is pumped for his home debut and having Scott guest in place of Lewi is a real trump card for us – his knowledge and experience of the track really is invaluable.

“I saw a lot of character in the squad at Ipswich and we want to see more of that as the season progresses. Thursday represents a good chance to get some points on the board and continue to build that confidence, but we won’t be taking King’s Lynn lightly at all.”

OXFORD: Maciej Janowski, Scott Nicholls, Charles Wright, Rohan Tungate, Chris Harris, Erik Riss, Ashton Boughen.
KING’S LYNN: Tobiasz Musielak, Vadim Tarasenko r/r, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Michael Palm Toft, Ben Cook, Patryk Wojdylo, Anders Rowe.
SCB Referee: Paul Carrington
