PREVIEW: LEICESTER v BELLE VUE (ROWE Motor Oil Prem)

LEICESTER go for back-to-back victories this week when they host Belle Vue in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership tonight (Thursday).

The Lions gave their season some momentum with an emphatic win at Birmingham on Monday, but the Aces have also been in good form with their recent results including victory at King’s Lynn last week.

And the visitors are strong favourites to take the aggregate point as they travel with an 18-point advantage.

The home side have reverted to their established riding order after manager Stewart Dickson switched things on Monday, so Ryan Douglas returns to the No.5 berth with Richard Lawson going back to No.2.
Douglas said: “It’s a big meeting against Belle Vue, and we need to win this one.

“Sheffield are obviously a very strong side, they pushed us all the way last week and then got that 5-1 which cost us in the end.

“But if we can just get that one more per cent from every rider then I think we’ll easily have enough to get the win.”

Belle Vue boss Mark Lemon said: “The weather played its part in the home leg for us but the boys did a solid job, and they have good form around the Pidcock Motorcycles Arena so I expect another close contest.

“We always enjoy our visits there and we can’t forget that this is the place where Dan Bewley, Brady Kurtz and Jake Mulford secured our Premiership Pairs championship last year.

“There is a sense of confidence within the team but certainly not arrogance. We more than aware that Leicester can do to us what we did to them so the boys will need to bring their A-game.”

LEICESTER: Max Fricke, Richard Lawson, Sam Masters, Luke Becker, Ryan Douglas, Drew Kemp, Joe Thompson.
BELLE VUE: Brady Kurtz, Norick Blodorn, Jaimon Lidsey, Ben Cook, Dan Bewley, Connor Mountain, Connor Bailey.
SCB Referee: Chris Durno
