PREVIEW: KING’S LYNN v OXFORD (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

KING’S Lynn face Oxford in the opening televised meeting of the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership campaign at the Adrian Flux Arena tonight (Monday).

The sides meet live on TNT Sports 1 and discovery+ with the Stars having the early advantage from previous clashes in 2025.

They were home and away winners in the KO Cup last month and went on to open their league account with a win over Leicester a fortnight ago, whilst the Spires await their first points of the season.

The visitors are at full strength whilst King’s Lynn bring in Tom Brennan to guest for injured No.1 Ben Cook, and former club captain Simon Lambert stands in as team manager for the unavailable Rob Lyon.

Lambert said: “I am speedway through and through, it’s the best sport in the world, and this is something I want to try and do well because when I hang my kevlars up it’s the next step of my life – I can’t ever imagine my life without speedway.

“I’m not there to tell them what to do, but I’m a captain and a motivator and if I need to get my hands dirty on the spanners to help out, I’m happy to do that.

“When I race my bike I race to win, I’m all in with that, and on Monday night I want King’s Lynn to win. It’s always had a place in my heart, and after they’ve asked me to do this I’ll give it my all.”

Oxford manager Peter Schroeck said: “Our No.1 and No.5 (Rohan Tungate and Maciej Janowski) showed they are competitive at Sheffield; we are going to take that into tonight’s meeting and who knows what we can do.”

KING’S LYNN: Tom Brennan, Jan Kvech, Nicolai Klindt, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Richard Lawson, Chris Harris, Ashton Boughen.
OXFORD: Rohan Tungate, Erik Riss, Charles Wright, Peter Kildemand, Maciej Janowski, Francis Gusts, Luke Killeen.

SCB Referee: Phil Griffin
